If you're a crafter eager to personalize your projects or simply want to make stickers with your logo, making stickers with your Cricut machine is such a fun project. In this guide, I'll take you step-by-step through creating fun stickers using a Cricut machine, a lamination machine, and sticker paper. Gather your crafting materials, and let’s jump in!
What you need for this project
Before you embark on your sticker-making adventure, ensure you have the following essential materials:
Cricut Machine: Your primary tool for cutting out designs.
Mat Sticker Paper
Lamination Machine: This machine is key to protecting your stickers, making them resistant to wear and water.
Scissors
Make sure these items are within easy reach to keep your crafting process smooth and fun!
Designing Your Stickers
Now it's time to get creative!
Create your sticker on Cricut Design Space: Make your own designs with the software's shapes and text tools and/or pictures uploaded from your computer. Make sure that you selected the Print Then Cut option on your Operation tab.
Create offset: After you are satisfied with your design, create an offset with the width and color you desire around your sticker, or you can simply place a circle or square as a background for your sticker.
Flatten your design: Make sure to flatten your design, including your offset, after you're done.
OR Upload Your Designs: You can also just upload your artwork that you downloaded online or that you designed using programs like Photoshop or Illustrator to your Cricut Design Space, just make sure your design has a transparent background and upload it as a Print Then Cut.
Position the Design: Place your design within the cutting area of the virtual mat; you can create multiple copies of the sticker you just created or you can fit several designs on your paper. This helps in visualizing how many stickers you can fit on the mat sticker paper. Remember to leave some spacing; for example, standard printer paper can fit about 12 stickers.
With your design crafted and saved, you are ready for the next stage!
Printing your design and laminating your sticker
Printing your Sticker Paper: Now you need to print your design through your Cricut design.
Prepare Your Laminator: Turn on your lamination machine and let it heat up, which usually takes about 5 minutes. I use 3mm regular lamination pouches; there are tons of fun holographic laminate sheets on Amazon that you can buy.
Preparing your pouch: After you're done printing, grab only 1 lamination paper from the laminating pouch; you won't need the full laminating pouch since the back will be the sticker. Make sure to cut it smaller than your four cut sensor marks. Place your lamination paper and sticker paper in your lamination machine and start laminating!
Lamination Process: Feed the pouch into the lamination machine. The heat will seal the laminate, protecting your stickers from damage.
Cutting the Sticker Paper
Now for the exciting part: cutting out your stickers!
Load Your Mat Sticker Paper: After your sticker are sucessfully laminated, firmly place your mat sticker paper onto the cutting mat to prevent any misalignment during the cut. Pro tip: its best to use a light grip mat so the back of your stickers don't stick too tight to your mat
Select the Material in Design Space: Make sure to choose the appropriate material setting for your sticker paper in Cricut Design Space. I use Mat Sticker setting on my machine and I set the pressure to more.
Start the Cutting Process: Hit the 'Go' button to commence the cutting!
Unload the Mat: Upon completion, remove the cutting mat from the Cricut machine and use a weeding tool to delicately peel away any parts of your sticker that aren’t needed leaving your cut stickers on the mat, then carfullyl your stickers off the mat.
Final results And Voila! Your stickers are ready!
Happy crafting!
